La Thuile Trail is a yearly festival weekend of trail running in the stunning Italian foothills of Mont Blanc. The event hosts a 25km race along with a 60km ultra and culminates in a gruelling ‘vertical’ with 1’000m of ascent in just 4.5km. 
After three years, La Thuile Trail had gained momentum but was lacking the branding to support its growth. The event needed an exciting identity that would be recognisable and welcoming to runners, with supporting communication materials to clearly convey important information.
I worked to develop an identity that would represent a serious, professional race to attract new runners. I also analysed how various online and print materials could be used to promote supporting sponsors. During the rebrand, I created a new logo, colour palette, image treatment and graphic look and feel. This was implemented across print materials, website, event signage and giveaways. La Thuile Trail had a successful launch of their new brand in 2019 and saw a 40% increase in participants from the previous year.
